December 1st, 1926 - November 30th, 2023

Dorothy Whitlow Hartman, 96, of Boones Mill, VA passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born on December 1, 1926 to the late William Tony Whitlow and Mary Wood Whitlow.

She was a caring, giving lady and was very faithful in her belief. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hartman; son, Johnny Howard Hartman; siblings, Oscar, Elliott, Hugh, Robert, Curtis, David, Marie, Eva, Effie May and Viola.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Barney Whitlow and his wife, Freeda; sister, Mary Jo Rakes; sister-in-law, Sylvia Whitlow; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Oakey’s South Chapel. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
