Betty Jane Lindamood passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Va. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 85. Jane was born on December 17, 1939 in Ferrum, Va. to the late Wilbur Wright Worley and Elsie Young Worley.
Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Roy Lindamood; her son, Eric Lindamood of Bothell, Wash., and son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Lucille Lindamood of Glen Allen, Va. She is also survived by her five grandchildren whom she cherished and loved deeply, Sarah and Michael of Glen Allen, Va., Alexander, Caroline Jane, and Andrew of Bothell, Wash.; her brother, Ken Worley; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Kristin Lindamood; sister, Peggy Terrill; and brother, Bobby Worley.
Jane graduated from Franklin County High School in 1957 in Rocky Mount, Va. where she was voted the "Best Dressed" in her senior year. She moved to Roanoke, Va. after graduation and began working for General Electric in Salem, Va. While there she met her future husband and love of her life, Roy Lindamood. They married in 1960 and settled down in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke County, raising their family while enjoying the beauty of the area, long drives in the country, and family breakfasts with biscuits and gravy and other treats. In 2021, they moved to the Richmond, Va. area to be closer to family.
Jane loved her family dearly and welcomed everyone she met with open arms. She continued to offer love, guidance, and support to her family and friends throughout the years. Her eyes would light up when her grandchildren walked into the room or when she talked to them over the phone. She showed her family great love and that was the message that she kept sending her family and has left us all with. She was a wonderful example of always showing love.
In addition to her deep affection for her family, Jane found great joy in two things-college basketball and country music. Her passion for these two things was only rivaled by her love for those closest to her. Jane will be greatly missed, but her warmth, gentle spirit, sweet smile, wit, and the memories she created will live on in all who knew her. Her family will miss her dearly.
She will be interred at Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, Va.
