Alice Young, age 87 of Callaway, on Sunday, April 21, 2024 flatfooted and danced on the golden road to the pearly gate to see her God and daughters, Teresa Loudermilk Carlisle, Ruby Darlene Young; granddaughter, Melissa Jean Tosh; and brother, James Rawls.
Surviving to cherish her memory and love are her daughters, Jeanie (Phil) Tosh and Dorene (special friend, Steve Myers); son, Wally (Carol) Young; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and three more grandchildren on the way; brother, Eddie (Alice) Rawls; sisters, Ruth Anne Elbert, Martha Messingschlager and Mary Boyle; special cousin, Carolyn Harrison, whom she loved like a sister; and special friend, Audrey Robertson, whom she also loved like a sister.
Our mom loved meeting all her friends at Waidsboro to flatfoot and listen to music. Not only was dancing her passion, she also loved singing, planting her beautiful flowers and working in her yard.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Julia Wheeler, Karyn Willenbring and to her caretaker, Carolyn.
Funeral services will be conducted at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 with Pastor Eddie Hawks and her grandson, Pastor Kyle Young officiating.
