Josie Gunn Copenhaver of Roanoke, Va., passed from this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Her daughter, Virginia Lynn Argabright, also of Roanoke, Va., passed away suddenly within hours of her mother on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Josie was born on June 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Orb and Rose Gunn of Jonesville, Va. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William James “Pete” Copenhaver.

Lynn was born on December 4, 1957, a daughter of the late William James “Pete” and Josie Gunn Copenhaver.

Both are survived by Josie’s son-in-law and Lynn’s husband, Daniel Argabright; Josie’s grandson and Lynn’s son, Steven Lee Argabright and his wife, Belinda; granddaughters, Alexis Etzler, Makayla Argabright, and Courtney Argabright, all of Franklin County, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Josie and Lynn will be remembered as joyous givers. No one needed to ask them for assistance in time of need, they just appeared, brought food, and asked if they could help. They always remembered friends and family with cakes or pies for their birthdays and presented them with a big smile.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Oakey’s South Chapel. A Funeral Service for Josie and Lynn will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Oakey’s South Chapel. Interment for Josie will follow the service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Interment for Lynn will follow at 3 p.m. on Monday at Franklin Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting
