Emily (Marie) Hunt, age 83 of Rocky Mount went to be with her Lord, and Savior Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was a faithful and active member of Franklin Heights Church. Marie will be remembered for her love of the Lord, her family, many friends and church family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Elmer Choate and Etta Wilburn; brothers, Bobby and Danny Wilburn; and her beloved husband, Herman A. Hunt. Surviving are her children, Susan Russell and Gary A. Hunt; grandchildren, Lindsay Young (Zach), Christianna and Ambrose Hunt; nephew, Steve Wilburn; niece, Cindy Wilburn; and daughter by love, Monika Pullen. Marie was a blessing to all that knew her, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, and always shared her experiences and joy over the years. She enjoyed helping in church activities and being involved with her Sunday school class. Most of all she loved her family, and her hardest work went into devoting her life and care to each and every one of them. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Franklin Heights Church. The family expresses a special thank you to Friendship (South) for their compassionate care during Mrs. Hunts stay. Funeral services will be held at Franklin Heights Church 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 with Pastor Stan Parris and Pastor Caleb Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
