Donald "Don" R. Dean, 91, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Lydia Robinson Dean; his parents, Marvin and Julia Price Dean; sister, Delores Gleason and brother Paul Dean. 

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Dean Hartman and son in law Michael J. Hartman and beloved granddaughter, Destinee R. Hartman.  Also, his brother, Harry Lee Dean.

Don grew up in Marion, Va. and  moved his family to Roanoke in 1965 for employment with GE in Salem, where he retired. 

He enjoyed dealing in antiques and collectables. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1 pm at Oakey's South Chapel followed by his funeral service at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
