On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, God sent an angel to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital to release from this life Arlene Nichole (Nikki) Witcher. Nikki was born to Ronald and Jennifer Lemon Witcher on October 31, 1979, in Penhook, Virginia.
Nikki was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Witcher; an infant daughter; her grandparents, Arlene and Posie Lemon, and Bradford and Addie Witcher. She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Witcher, and her brother, Kevin Witcher, both of the home; a special niece, Danielle Witcher of Kernersville, North Carolina; aunts, Trekeyta Niblett and Amelia Fitzpatrick, both of Martinsville, VA, and Delphine (Tony) Bush, of Houston, TX; uncles, Clarence Lemon, of Penhook, VA, and Steven Lemon, of Rocky Mount, VA; and a godmother, Carolyn Wainwright of Rocky Mount, Virginia. Nikki also leaves a host of many cousins and friends to cherish her memories.
Nikki was a lifetime resident of Penhook, Virginia. She received her education in the Franklin County School System and was a proud graduate of Patrick Henry Community College where she received an associate degree in general studies.
She was a member of Franklin Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until there was a decline in her health.
Nikki will be remembered for her love for her family and friends and for the love she had for “good food”. She will also be remembered as a very strong fighter as she endured many health issues beginning in her young life and continuing to the end of her time on earth.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory - Rocky Mount, 195 Maple Avenue, Rocky Mount. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Franklin Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Live Streaming will be available from the Hamlar-Curtis website.
